The Coastal zone, Central High and Uplands of the South Vietnam promises the high development of economy in Vietnam. With the good natural conditions, in recent years, the aquaculture and agriculture have been developing well, contributing much to the economy of the country. As the result of fast economic development, the demography and urbanization change rapidly, causing the diversity of other industries. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City and many other coastal cities are rising the environmental ecological problems including:
Extreme industrialization and urbanization and urban industrial extension in rural areas
Diminution of cultivable lands
Surface and groundwater and coastal-marine water pollution
Lack of drinking water and freshwater resources in the coastal zone
Air-and Noise pollution in the big cities
Soil and agricultural production contamination
Deforestation, land and soil erosion in High - and Uplands
Coastal line change due to erosion and accretion
